Numerical Investigation of the Cavitation Characteristics in Venturi Tubes: The Role of Converging and Diverging Sections

Cavitation is a typical physical process that has shown to be highly valuable in the wastewater treatment field. This study aims investigate effects of converging and diverging sections Venturi tube on cavitation flow Multiphase flows tubes are presented using mixture model standard k-ε model. And Schnerr Sauer employed simulate vapor–liquid phase transition process. Both grid independence numerical method’s feasibility were validated before research. The results showed influence divergence section length characteristics depends provided pressure conditions. As increases, shorter result more significant effects. convergence displays various behaviors under different situations. A small contraction can achieve better high-pressure applications, whereas opposite true low-pressure cases. Within scope this study, it was observed with divergent 14 Lt convergent one 2.4 enhanced performance when subjected inlet pressures ranging from 0.8 1.2 MPa. Our findings indicate selection lengths should consider corresponding operational conditions, which provides guidance engineering significance research development devices hydraulic engineering.
